Marine Shipwright Technician
Structural wood repairs or construction of vessels i.e. planking, frames, timbers, stems, keel etc. Interior wood repairs or construction of vessels, mold making
• 5 years of experience as a shipwright and/or woodworker
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial or labor environment preferred
• Meet the requirements of the schedule, be punctual and have excellent work ethic

MARINE MECHANIC / TECHNICIAN
Seaview Boatyards West, the Pacific Northwest’s premier boatyard and yacht repair facilities located in Seattle are currently seeking experienced, self-motivated, reliable journeyman marine mechanics to join our crew.
Qualified candidates must have basic carpentry, plumbing and wiring skills, as well as, experience working with hand tools, industrial tools, rigging, forklifts, etc. Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of general marine mechanics including shaft work, engine alignment and running gear, installation and repair (both mechanical and electrical) of wiring, pumps, valves, piping, plumbing, and thru-hulls.
This position requires the skills to perform general mechanical and electrical work, as well as, systems and electronics installation and repair. The ability to troubleshoot, repair and plan the installation of recreational marine electronic equipment including marine communication, navigation, computer systems and electrical systems both AC and DC is critical. Being an experienced sailor that is familiar with all the rigging and mechanical aspects of a sailing vessel is key.

FIBERGLASS REPAIR TECHNICIAN

We are currently seeking experienced, self-motivated, and reliable journeyman fiberglass repair technicians to join our crew.
Seaview Boatyard North & West, the Pacific Northwest’s premier boatyard and yacht repair facilities located in Bellingham & Seattle are looking for qualified candidates who have fairing, tooling and gelcoat experience including matching of gel-coat colors, applying and finishing gel-coat, matching nonskid patterns and other decorative finishes. Ideal candidate would be a journeyman laminator proficient in repair and new construction including major hull lamination & transom extensions. Experience using foam core, polyurethane foam, fabrication of structural parts, painting and finishing a plus. Knowledge of the use of common measuring tools, precision measuring gages and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs is preferred, but not essential. Materials handled include polyester, vinylester, epoxy and urethanes.

FOLLOWING CRITERIA APPLIES TO ALL SEAVIEW TECHNICIANS
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
Flexibility to work in the standing, squatting, or kneeling position, as well as reaching overhead with occasional twisting and bending while performing any of the above task. Climbing stairs and ladders on a regular basis is required. Ability to work in small spaces, minimal lifting required above 50lbs.
Schedule is Monday-Friday from 7:45am to 5:00pm.
During Summer there could be 2-3 Saturdays from 8am-4pm, and from time to time it may be necessary to work additional shifts or on weekends.
Must work as part of a team with a good attitude, be punctual and have excellent work ethic.
